• The Director heads the department by overall guidance, supervision and control to various activities.
  • The Director is assisted by a Superintending Hydrogeolgist and a Superintending Engineer.
  • In each district there is one district office for Groundwater Department, which is headed by the District Officer.
  • The District Officers are assisted by Asst.Exe.Engineer, Hydrogeologist, Asst.Engineer, Jr.Hydrogeologist and Jr.Geophysicist.
  • Apart from the above, there is an analytical lab level II+ in Thiruvananthapuram and 2 regional analytical lab level II in Ernakulam & Kozhikode for water analysis.
  • The water quality lab level II+ in Thiruvananthapuram is headed by the Chief Chemist and the regional labs by Executive Chemists.
  • The department also has a Central Workshop and Stores operating at Kureepuzha, Kollam district headed by Asst. Exe. Engineer, where repair of department machineries and vehicles are done and also is the department central store, which distributes the accessories and materials for different types of well construction to the district offices.
